hi

i wonder if anyone can help

when i switched my computer on to connect to the net

my dial up number was gone all i had was ------------------- moving from right to

left when typed anything it would move to the left and disappear

when i finally got on the net same thing was happening in my search engine

i tried to open my e-mail and the same thing

so i ran seek and destroy and found some things i destroyed them

computer ran ok but when i tried to download some software and you enter the

name of the software samething happened

does anyone know whats happening

:blink: well thats one of the bastard viruses which dont do nothing to you, just piss you off ..well i cant think of anything to do, what i do when im in a situation like that is Re install windows...save anything important eg. files ect. and go for it ..sorry can't help but thats the way i've done it for ages..

sorry but how wrong could u be? why is it always re install windows...?

Firstly the reason they have come back is more than likely because they are in ur system restore. U need to turn this off before removing nething or they will still be there.

try running a virus scan, using both ur installed scanner and an online one

then run spybot s&d and ad-aware and remove the junk they find

edit. virusgenerator, i would advise changing ur name becos u are going to get no end of grief for that.

just run your virus scanner and quarintine/remove the virus after you find it.

lol, basically what hes saying is....he runs a scan with spybot or adaware, and he finds some adware, so he uninstalls windows :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :lol: :lol:

thanks to all

i found the problem well my daughter did(i feel so dumb) :blink:

cos it was so obvious

my scanner was leaning on the minus button

so i was getting ------------------------ every time the curser

went into a box

sorry to waste your time
