I have sygate personal firewall pro installed in my comp., which is getting disabled everytime I start the internet connection. I never had this problem b4. I tried to reinstall the app. , but that was very useless. I think it is someone disabling it somehow.
I scan with my anti-virus almost everyday and I update the virus definition as well.
I installed another firewall (Agnitum outpost pro) and sygate did not get disabled, though it is not good to have 2 firewalls installed at the same time, so I deinstalled Outpost after testing. I also enabled windows Xp's firewall, which did not help, because my firewall is still terminates unexpectedly.
I'm the adminstartor of the computer and the one who uses it the most :D
ADSL connection
running windows xp pro ATM (with no spacks), but installed almost every patch from micro.
I checked with spy bot, adware and more progs of my OWN, but nothing was found

I've heard of this happening with Sygate Pro if it's regged, kg'd or otherwise pirated.

I'd suggest trying a through registry cleaning of all currently or previously installed firewalls. Being sure you're not connected to the net. Then install the freeware Sygate.

I did that b4 I post, the same results though. :frusty:
That also happened after I installed some IE updates from MS,
could that...

nah not ie updates, are you browsing the net with IE, then it turns of or whatever? :smilie4:.

all i can think of is maybe an update that you installed for sygate, had like 'crack protection' or something and doesnt allow cracked versions to work. :frusty: , bu since you said it did the same thing with the free version....compatilbility issue?

May be it is a compatibility issue.

what you might try is-

unistall sygate, delete program folder, download 'regcleaner',delete all registry entries made by sygate.

reinstall sygate but onyl download new definitons, not software updates(sometimes a problem with cracked software).

:smilie4: :frusty:

if that doesnt work download Zonealarm (http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/1012_zl/zlsSetup_45_594_000.exe)

Are deleting all these firewalls from your Explorer (windows explorer not IE) tree?

My theory is as you stated had 2 or more firewalls installed at the same time. Corrupting all your firewalls. Just unistalling through add/remove & registry cleaning won't always remove all traces of programs.

Go to (on my system) Start - Programs - Accessories - Windows Explorer.
Click on Windows Explorer.
Expand My Computer.
Expand Local Disk. For me it's C.
Expand Program Files. Here is where you delete any remaining traces of firewalls.

There after unistalling through add/remove & registry cleaning. You need to search the above tree & delete any entries of firewalls.

no ghost != musclesman.
I just read ur posts now and I roflmao, because I always delete the folder from program files if the setup did not delete it during uninstall.
I installed Agnitum for testing, during the TESTing sygate did not terminate.
I did what ghost told me, now I reregistered the product and it seems not to terminate ATM, so hope it stays like this

Edit: it terminated again. I don't think it is from the program.

  not quite  :)

so your not running any other firewalls now, right? (except for sygate).
if you are uninstall all other firewalls and delete the registry entries,(and the program folder, if remaining) for the OTHER firewalls.

also turn off you virus scanner if you have it running, and any other program you think it might be interferring with.

reboot your pc and try it now.

I uninstalled/installed sygate like a 1000 times now. I installed Agnitum outpost after uninstalling sygate (deletion of reg. keyz+folder as well), but the internet manager will not connect at all, so what I did is uninstall it. ZA sux like hell, better have none then ZA. I tried everything in the posts, but no use :(

:)
The first part is a registry setting to set Sygate to not try to phone home to register.

"after installation...block...IPs:" are the Sygate IPs to block with your firewall.

Tu capice? ;)

There is a registery patch that does that, anyways I doubl3 checked just t make sure, but no hope :( . Sygate DOES NOT terminate when running apps such as OTHER firewalls (not ICF), syGATE home network etc.
