ok i feel that i haven't been clear:

I WAS going to buy a comp @ ibuypower.com but abu kept suggesting that i build a new comp but i dun wanna mess up so before i order parts i want u guys to get the parts and tell me what to order -_-;; im absolutely clueless in hardware :D

Ok 2 answer ur guys questions:


1. What i mean by other parts is that im like horribly confused. I dunno if this chip will fit with that motherboard and stuff. So i asked abu and he said that the stuff i got already (the case, motherboard, and processor) fit, so i juss need u guys to get the other parts that 'll fit with this stuff :D

i have a suggestion. i notice ur getting the abit max3. not bad. not bad at all. but u might consider saving for a bit longer, maybe till like $1500 or $2000, and get urself a prescott mobo and a beefy cpu. just a suggestion. but if u really want a better pc now, go rite ahead

LOL o man, 2000 WOW THATS A LOT, not that i couldn't or wouldn't its just that i dun wanna spend 2000 for a pc -_-;; i mean if i really think bout it i juss want 120 fps on cs, not that crappy 60 i get and 5 when a smoke grenade goes off -_-;;

And is northwood and prescott. Which one better?

these are socket 478. the next gen prescott&#39;s are socket 700 something.

Ditch the heatsink and get something decent.
Why go big on the chip/motherboard and then throttle it with that dog?

Almost any sink, including the stock Intel version, would probably outperform that one.

thats what abu meant b4. cept he meant 150-200 usd. add another 200ish for a pinless prescott and ur around 400. get the AA8 MAX man. final answer

pinless chips :o how are they pinless? the socket on that board looks pretty normal to me, sorta, except theres a metal thing across it which im assuming is some sorta gaurd...

im not sure about the alderwood etc. but...@the sound sound comment, i havent seen a motherboard built after 1997 that doesn&#39;tinclude onboard sound....the onboard sound is usually very good quality too, better than most pci soundcards, especially nvidias, i hear that they have the best onboard sound quality.

alderwood. the best 1 comin out.

also, this 1 comes with 8 channel (7.1) surround. that beats evry board owt there rite now i believe :)

well the alderwood is due to release around july i beleive.

i think its for the socket-T, pinless intel chips.

and it wont cost you anything, sorta, cause its just teh chipset on the motherboard, so its included with the motherboard price.

well the alderwood is due to release around july i beleive.
