Get a program called G-Spot (just do a websearch). Open the file with G-Spot and it will tell what codecs the movie was encoded with and it will also tell you if the needed codecs are installed on your PC.

yeah. check it out with gspot (http://www.divx-digest.com/software/gspot.html) and it will tell you which audio codec it uses and/or if you have it installed.

the only audio codec i've had to install by itself was the AC3 one. :)

I've got the full retail dvd ;)

By the way it would be wise to re-install the codecs on your system, because you shouldnt have problems playing the movies on any media player if you have the correct codecs installed.

I got the dvd off a friend. He has access to a private server where they get retail dvds months before they are due for retail release.

I havnt seen it yet, i've had it for about two weeks, but couldnt find the time to watch it.

There are about 120 movies in my storage box, and about half i havnt watched because of a lack of time

Maybe i'll get around to watching it at the weekend.
