I saw the TV series years ago and it was great.

I have a few MP3s of various hitch hiker episodes.

But I am confused.

Of course I dearly want to get the whole set.

How many radio episodes were there ?

Some of the MP3s are labelled confusingly such as

Episode 1
Fit 1
Hitch Hikerers Guide 1
Chapter 1

And they are all way different file lengths.

Can anyone give me a guide (scuse pun) as to the best one to download ?

Thanks

PS, There needs to be a forum on here for comedy files, there were heaps on Audio Galaxy.

I'd go with the BBC Radio version.

And, sorry guys, it's already been put to film. ;)

The radio plays kicked ass, though, which is better than a TV show anyway. ;)

There was the original radio series, which was in effect a radio play.

There are also audio books. Which are the novels read out.

There is also the Television Series.

The Movie is in production.

If you wish the most accurate rendition of it then download the Radio Series. You will get the best sense of what it is about.

It comes as 12, 30 minute (29 actually) episodes.

Gee 12 replies alreday.

It must be quite popular.

I thought the TV series was really good aa bit camp but I loved the bit where the narrator explained how all the different planets etc worked.

I will try to look out for the 12 Radio series as you suggest J'Pol,

But why do people alway have to name them differently ?

Will I be able to get all 12 ?

Thanks Sara

I don't use emule, it looks a bit to complicated to me from reading the boards about it, and also it looks like you need broadband. I'm on 56K at the moment.

I would love to get the TV series one day !

As Regards the 12 episode Radio series.

It makes it very hard to download (on 56K) as everyone seems to name their files differently and therefore there are not that many users of each file. You have to sort of catch the same user on the net at the same time as yourself for a few sessions to be able to get the file.

It would be great if all us Galaxy fans would agree to name our files the same way, but I suppose that would be impossible as everyone would have a preference, but I can see that some users just leave them as they are and have each episode name differently. I like to be more tidy/logical/organised.

Its a pity KL forum does not have a comedy forum.

Fair point, tho' I was offering to share them directly with the chap. I was also suggesting a method by which we could achieve this.

However as you are also willing to do the same, over to you. I bow to your superior knowledge.

It was in the event that you weren't around, he would have other options. ;)

I'm going to have to scam more classical stuff from you sooner or later.

Being the purist I am, I preferred the radio series second to the Douglas Adams novel. The TV series comes third, and I'm not sure how I shall feel about the film, given they are using a black Ford Prefect according to IMDB. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0371724/) But it does feature John Malkovich, so things are looking up.
