How Do I Change Dat File To Movie File

hi friends. i got one .dat file and can't make it work.
How can i change it to .avi ? please help

Have you tried opening it with a media player yet ?

Dat as in mpeg.

Rename the dat extension to mpeg.

If you still like to convert to avi use virtual dub.
