on the keygen it has two options..one is to generate installation serial number and another is for activation code. it says i need to enter my phone registration code. what do i do?

You need to either:
a- read the .nfo file,
b- search these forums, or
c- google.

FOr .nfo's, try going to downloads.com (http://www.downloads.com) and searching for a freeware app called Dizzy. It's made for those type files and does a better job than notepad.

As for the other, use the keygen to get the key code. When Norton asks for it, put it in. Later, either on reboot or towards the end of installation (I can't remember), Norton will try to register online IMPORTANT- Either dont be on line or block norton with your firewall-. If you followed my advice, it'll fail to connect. Tell it to try again. After several failures, it'll offer to let you register by phone. Accept the kind offer. Norton will then give you a -->phone registration code<-- . Put that in the open slot in the keygen and hit generate. Put in the new code and your done.

I agree to all. But my sig says it all........"Knowledge is power, so share the wealth!" and "You're either part of the problem or part of the solution! Choose!!"

I am sharing the wealth and choose to be part of the solution. If I get burned, it's my fault. Life goes on. But I'll still be part of the solution and sharing the wealth. At least the meager part I have. ;)

I know that once, like everyone else, I was a NooB, to some...to many, I am still a NooB. But to those I can help, I shall. Hell, somebody has to. We all need help sometimes!!

To sheredholder, chewie, Rip The Jacker, pol, MUSLEMAN, [B][O][T], and many, many others, my thanks. To those I may have helped, your welcome. With special props to sharedholder.

Later taters...............Keep up the hard work!! :01:

:P Being nice is free but brings great rewards. I know it can be frustrating when peeps ask NooB questions. I remember my first time on the net. Hell, the faqs were over my head and the manuals seemed to written it Arabic.....or Greek. A lot of folks were nice enough to humor me and answer my questions. I'm just passing it on.

Thx peatmoss, I shall try. "Anger leads to the Dark Side of the Force!"

He is right.

Being "nice" does merit some rewards and is, IMO, the "right" thing to do.

Reading post-after-post of some asshole constantly displaying "search google, noob" or "google is your friend" or linking to some obscure forum FAQ just defeats the purpose and truly is nothing more than as much spam as the person asking the question to begin with.

It is one thing responding to a question that overall is just plain moronic with those responses- it is quite another to respond to legitmate inquiries of help in that manner. And often you can tell the spam apart from true ignorance (which by definition, is not an insulting term mind you).

If it were not for acts of kindness, I doubt that anyone here would have gotten so far on the net or experience with their systems than with some cretin making an attempt to prove superiority by posting :rtfaq: or :rtfm: .

It would not hurt to just answer the fucking question and be done with. Perhaps making a friend or two out of it as well and gaining alittle respect in the process. ;)
