Download Problem

when files are sent to my shared folder the box comes up saying "windows cannot find program.exe".i know its something simple but i dont know what to do.can anyone help?

what kind of file is it? .exe .avi .bin explain :)

it does it on anything i download,like mp3 or videos.beside the file thats downloading it has the icon that looks like a folder with 6 little squares in it.then when i double click on it to play the file,thats when i get the progrom not found box.
