Can anyone tell me why in My shared folder I have a certain number of files, then down where it has my user name and the files I am sharing. It says I have about 50 more files than i actually have in my folder. Any clue why that is? Does anyone have any idea?

Check you have not actually agreed to share more than just your shared folder. You may have inadvertenly shared your whole hard drive :)

In emule go to preferences, directories and see what boxes are checked.

In K-lite you go to Options, find media to share, click on Folder List tab and see what boxes are checked there.

Or some similar setup.

Make sure you only have the folders you specifically want to share highlighted.

Do you have full files or partial files in your shared folder?

I believe I have full files, but I was wondering what happens to the files I cancel download on?

The partial dat files will stay in your shared folder, you can delete these providing you can correctly identify them. You don't want to delete files that you are downloading so best to wait until all complete and see whats left.

This has happened on occasion to me in early K-lite progs.. I think Danb is more likely to be right come to think of it...

The c drive had a black box only the shared folder is red. Just a thought but it seems like it keeps up maybe something I downloaded is multiplying. I don't know, but I did adware scans and virus scans and I don't know what else to do.

you have hidden files in your shared folder
tools>folder options>view> here check the box for ?show hidden files?then uncheck the box that
says ?hide protected operating system files (recommended)
bottom line: its normall nothing to worry about

These invisible files are almost always caused by either viruses or Win XP's picture thumbnails. If you disabled the Win XP's thumbnails feature... you're left with the problem likely being viruses...
