if u like what u like then go for it, but...

i would wait a couple of weeks and get an ati 9800xt for $200 (is what i'm doing), and REALLY, REALLY think about that case! u'll be needing 500 watts shortly! i have the same, but II and it came with that 350, but bought myself an antec 480 for back up for when i upgrade here in 2-4 weeks... :01:

I'm still waiting for my T-shirt...

Squirrel,
I don't see any optical drives in your shopping list, but, assuming the normal compliment of two, there's no reason a quality 350w PSU shouldn't handle your needs just fine.
Quality does not necessarily mean Antec ( certainly doesn't preclude it either).

You may want to consider a SATA drive.
Seagate (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-148-019&depa=0) drives seem to be the quietest. Don't be fooled into getting a power adapter though, you get one with the mobo.

secret, what card u got now? me, i have the 9200 and sure, it doesn't play what i need it too, but it will surfice for 2-4 more weeks. if u can't wait then get that 9800 pro for $200. even though that's not really a sale. it's been that low for the longest (or close to it). pricewatch (http://www.pricewatch.com/)

sata is the new interface for connecting the drive to teh computer, replacing ide. its much faster (or atleast it will be) and the cables are smaller and more flexible :)

raid is something else, it allows you to hook up an array of drives that can ether have both mirroring eachother for security, make them share the workload of the OS to make loading times shorter, or do both at once (which i think requires 4 drives).

there are no optical drives there, and no fans either, i recomend you buy 1 or 2 80mm fans at least (unless they come with ur case) cause ur cpu might overheat if it gets to hot in that case.

other than that i think its all good.

edit: nevermind, that case does come with case fans.

IMO, building a computer is really easy (as abu has said) and really the only thing that could go wrong is that you put on too much thermal paste or dont use any thermal paste or pad and the cpu overheats. but that will probably only happen with an amd processor anyway, cause intel has that overheat protection thing.

good luck building it :) and dont do anything stupid, just take ur time.

Your chip/HS will come with thermal paste.

It's not as good as ArcticSilver prolly, but the difference will only be a degree or two....

IMO = In My Opinion

Thermal paste provides an interface between the heatsink and the CPU. Depending on whether you got a retail or an OEM CPU, you may or may not need to buy paste, if you got retail, you should have paste with the CPU

one big thing u need 2 note about the 6800 and the 6800ultra:

the differeice between the two is 4 pipes: that can easily be a HUGE difference.

use the 200 dollars u saved to get a better card :) 6800u is round 500
