View Full Version : Connecting Problem

I use Kazaa Light and I am having connecting problem for like a month. It says that there are 5, 6 sometimes even more users for that particular file, but it doesn’t connect. It just keeps connecting, sometimes even for hours. Is there maybe some option that is on, or off, that can cause something like that. Any ideas?

There is another thing. It’s not really a problem, but unusual. Before it was much faster to download movie by movie, but lately bandwidth is much faster if I download two at the time! If I pause one, the bandwidth of the other rapidly falls down. I don’t get it, no logic what so ever.

I hope someone answers,
Thanks up front

your download speed depends on the # of sources for it and their upload speed, anddon't be fooled by whatyou see in the search window they are not an indication of who is available for connection so change supernodes to see if you get lucky, also use localized supernodes, also try changing ports, and lower your upload bandwidth, remove the no ip sources from your dat files and see if it helps , and if you have a router you need to get kanat.

so your files dont' have connectable sources.

as for the second problem, well you got me boss

Please post specific software / hardware / connection info. :)

Well if you have trouble connecting it could be because of if you are behind a router. You might need to use KaNat. Where are you located. School, work? Or just try connecting to a different port and/or different user name.

Yes I do have a Router, but that wasn't a problem a month ago, when everything was fine. Nothing changed in my equipment either.

The thing is if I start downloading another movie, besides that one, it connects much easier and the bandwidth is between 20 and 35, which is really good. Weird! But it still takes more than normal, especially when there is like 5 or 6 users.

I'll check the things you told me, I'm not sure what are you exactly talking about, but I'll give it a try.

Oh and haxor41789 I’m using DSL connection, Kazaa lite, and have Pentium 4. Is that what you wanted to know?

Thank you all

I found where to change supernodes. I went check status and I presume that green ones are good. Now there is Response Time, is it better if it is 1 or like 4, or maby 7? What is respones time?

And there is no source IP addresses in Dat tool, the list is empty.
Anything else?

P.S> where do I find that KaNat thing? It is not in tools.

then you chose not to install it when you installed klite. get it here (http://www.fasttrackhelp.com/development/ftfakes/kanat/download/KaNAT037Beta.exe)

O.K. I got the KaNat, thou it is still not on the tools list in kazaa, but on my desktop as a separate program. Anyway...now what? None of these options have any meaning to me. What do I do?

I have Current Kazaa IP, and in options in AutoReplace I have: 1.Check Kazaa IP every 3 minutes, 2. Detect WAN IP every 1 hour, 3.Popup the KaNat window on errors, and 4. in 'ASM' mode: Check Kazaa IP every 3 minutes. In WAN IP Detection:bypass Internet Explorer proxy settings.
Everything else is blank or unchecked.

So what do I change, or add or delete... Please advise

Thanks

Just put the file in the kazaa directory, and run it when you load kazaa. And then turn on Auto Replace Mode. And then go to the options and check everything in the "Startup" and "AutoReplace" tabs.
I think those are good settings. Its what Im using.

I checked on everything in Sturt up and autoreplace. And I moved whole folder from Program files into Kazaa folder in program files. It that what I supose to do?

put kanat.exe itself inside the kazaa folder

Aurora

I have put the whole folder KaNat into Kazaa folder, so that includes kanat.exe. Shall I put the KaNat folder back and just move (or copy) kanat. exe?

Thank you all for helping me!

P.S. What happend to haxor41789? Did they let him back?

HAXOR got banned over bs. but that is a whole different story.

putting the kanat folder in the klite folder will put the kanat.exe in klite>kanat

you want the kanat.exe in the klite folder, not in a folder in klite folder.

lol does that make sense??

Aurora

Yes it does :P :D
I have put kanat.exe in kazaa folder whit rest of the tools, I hope that will make a diference... but it still doesnt show in tools in Kazaa desktop. Maybe it shouldn't?

Another question: In super nodes

1. port numbers start on 1, 2 and 3 (1756,2431,3320), which ones should be perfered? Like my port number starts with 2, but I'm downloading 2 movies, one starts with 1, and other with 3.

2. I presume I should shoose a supernode (correct me if I'm wrong), but what is the best response time? 1?

3. I found Force Supernode option, what will that do? Would that make it work better?

Thanks again

if you have klt k++ it is in your tools already.

otherwise you gonna have to enter it manulay. puting it in your klite folder is not gonna make show up in our tools.

don't check the option of force being a supernode unless you want to become one. it won't realy help you in this case anyways

choose any port over 3500 should be ok but it must be a port you have forwarded already in your router otherwise all of this is pointless

Aurora

How do I do that?
Forward the port number in router?

MUSLEMAN
05-03-2004, 06:52 AM
what is your router??

Aurora
05-03-2004, 03:31 PM
I am not close to my router; I'm borrowing connection from a neighbour. And if I have to go there and do something about it, I don't think he'll let me. Now, I'm not sure, but I think the brand is Zyxtel (or something like that). It is small, half-circle shaped.

KaNat is connected to kazaa now, because it gives me message sometimes "Can't find IP for Kazaa", or something like that. And I noticed that changing nodes does help. I can get at least one movie downloading over 10kb/s. Which it wasn't so possible before, like when it was 6kb/s it was goooood! I didn't even know it can get faster than that.

I know my WAN IP, so I presume that is the routers IP, I tried Telneting to it but it doesn't work.

SO! That is the situation.
I'm eagerly waiting for your reply.

then none of this is going to do anything boss you need to forward the port in the router before kanat can do anything with it :(

Aurora

Oh, O.K. :(

Well thank you for trying. Should I just uninstal KaNat then?

MUSLEMAN

it does not hert to keep it you just won't be using it for now. but its up to you.

I have another question, well two.

1. I've been connecting to this guy in the supernode list, because it is best download so far, but today I just can't connect! Can he sees who is connecting and like block people?

2. I forgot where do I go to open folders for sharing. Like when I download movies I move them into another folder(to separate them from others people downloads), but I'm not shure is that folder shared, and I don't mind sharing. I found that option before, but I don't remember where, and now I can't find it.

Thank you again
