I just got a second monitor and I've heard of a simple program that lets you switch between monitors with your mouse. Just move the corsor to the edge of the screen and go a little further and the mouse will be on the other screen. Anyone heard of this or know the name of the program??

Also, know of any good sites with dual monitor screensavers and/or wallpapers?

It's called Windows XP.

Go to your graphics properties and you can set it all up. On the desktop right click-properties-settings.

You will obviously need to have two graphics cards. The motherboard onboard card and a seperate card will do.

A nice dual-head(for instance matrox) will do better.

Mixing onboard graphics(i hate onboard-anything) with another card can/will mess

up your performance.

if you're using an nVidia video card, then try nView which u can dl from their website. But ever better is UltraMon, which I am using now. has tons of features, and free (if you can somehow get a registration code from someone... hint hint ;) )

But what about screensavers. For instance, the screensaver that I use is 'Serenescreen', a very realistic aquarium screensaver. (This is just an example of what I'm looking for) Can I get a program that will allow the fish to swim from one screen to another as if it were one screen?

all i did was find an image, right click and hit "set as background"
(as long and you have IE 5.0 or higher)

a screensaver should automatically go between 2 monitors unless you get some really crappy one. I have only found one that did not work across 2 monitors

@shn - does synergy require 2 different computers? and how do you get a screen saver to go across 2 different OSs?

Okay, I've now got the second monitor, its a Dell 17 inch. But I cant even get the screen to come on. (yes it's plugged in). I tried enabling both screens on the display options menu but no luck.

Got it!! If anyone has ANY problem with dual monitors of any sort, this video clip will solve them all. Click the 'Video Highlight' next to the picture of the 2 monitors.
