i have a store credit of $39.54 at tigerdirect.com (cuz i returned a defective PSU.) the defective one i returned was an ULTRA 500w with 2 blue led fans. Now the same PSU i had is almost $70.00, i want a PSU with at least 400w, but i dont really know which one. can someone tell me if ULTRA really does suck, or if i got a bad one, or if any of these choices are good:

I have an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe mobo 3.0ghz P4
4 80mm case fans
3 HDD's
CC lights w/controller
1 CDR
1 3.5
*edit* a Radeon 9500 pro (which is powered also)

how bout these PSU's:

diablotek (sound like a piss poor one to me, but.........) (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=541439&Sku=D15-1001&CatId=1078)

Thermaltake (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=184605&Sku=T925-3002&CatId=1078)

EZ Media (sounds like crap also, but i dont know) (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=713346&Sku=P452-2010&CatId=1078)

the diablotek one looks pretty cheap...but not sure...i personally wouldnt trust it. id go with a brand name, like thermaltake, enermax, or ANTEC (zapjb's fav.). there are a few others, just cant remember them...

 nice...but seriously, its probably crap, you could buy some tri-led fans and put them into any quality psu.

after reading, it seems that the thermaltake would be the best choice.

Fair enough.
Ask a question, evaluate the responses, gather some data and then make your own decision.
In a perfect world it would always work like this.

Of course, Zap hasn't weighed in yet.

i also figured you get what ya pay for, and in most cases, buying something you never heard about is usually bad. I just thought someone would have an experience with one or more of the choices i looked at and offer insight. as always, you guys are great. :D

if they had antec, i would give it a shot, but they seem to only carry mostly garbage psu's. :(

can someone look at all 3 pages and tell me the best choices on them starting here Tigerdirect 400w PSU's (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=1078)

zapjb

Of all those I'd either get the ThermalTake or the Vantec each @ $79.99.

I was unfamiliar with the others. Therefore unwilling to either save money and or risk my system on them.

But why only TigerDirect?
