hey i just got a ati radeon 9600xt 256mb and it has something called overdrive i was just wondering what that does?

and what is the dvi in the back of the video card for?

the overdrive mate ..if you turn it up will higher the brightness at the same time lower the contrast..turn the other way will do the opposite

dvi is to have dual monitor thing or a big digital screen hdtv

Overdrive maximises the performance of your graphics card by monitoring the temp of the graphics processor and increasing or decreasing the frequency as appropriate. Currently only modifies the gpu frequency. Later options expect to modify memory frequency too.

DVI = Digital Video Interface, for connection to flat panel monitors which can use a digital signal. It removes the need to convert the signal to analogue and back to digital.

is it lynx man...on my card the overdrive feature controls as i said above.
