It's not going to be a world beater (Sis chipset, no dual channel ram support, onboard graphics) but for that price it sounds pretty good.

Let us know what it performs like when you've got it all put together.

And tell us if you can hear the baby crying.

The onboard graphics will be okay for the meantime until I get round to getting a new graphics card as it has an agp slot.

They will probably be better graphics then my old ati 7000 anyway

edit - if I can hear a baby crying I will be really worried. Whose will it be??

Word Of Warning
----------------------

Many businesses are using online auctions such as eBay, to circumvent the law by selling materials that are either of bad quality and/or to offer 'incredible' offers such as '5 Year RTB Warrenty'. Sometimes, getting a refund may never happen, unless you have paid by credit card.

Please be careful ;)

You jack, it has an integrated video card and integrated sound card. You'll just end up spending 1000 dollars to improve it later on. But i guess its good 64mb is good card, fits most minimum requirements, and its better than my Gateway 700mhz Pentium 3, 256 mb ram, 4mb integrated video card.

Realistically seaking Danno, to me it looks like you've bought a Barton core 2800XP chip, a case and (presumably) a PSU ( unknown make and power rating) for your 175 bucks ( what does that translate to in US dollars?).
Oh, and some RAM, also.
Viewed like that it's not a hideous deal, especially if you happen to like the case.

and a motherboard...

here is the curremcy conversion, wasnt sure if it was in uk pounds, or euros:
UK pounds: 310.309 USD
euros: 209.072 USD

conversions done with XE.com = The universal Converter (http://www.xe.com/ucc/)

Rosco,
I was assuming that the included motherboard was just a convenient place to hold the chip during shipping and would be discarded with the styrofoam peanuts.

As the basis for a system build, $210 (assuming Euros) isn't outrageous...especially if he likes the case.

Does anyone else see a cyclops face at the bottom of the front bezel?
Cute lips?...

I can't speak for him, but I dont much like the case myself...
it has some decent potential for a good mod though I guess

The reason he didn't mention the motherboard is because it is an Asrock(Asrock=junk).

yes I am aware that it is a pos motherboard, but that doesnt take away from the fact that the motherboard will be included in the price, and that danb will probably be using it.
