if youve got ntfs, then right click the folder, and go to advanced, then click encrypt contents to secure data, then the folder will only be openable from your username, and not any other users...this is if your running windows xp or 2000...maybe nt but i doubt ur running that...

heh, im running window xp, but im looking for a 3rd party program that does this cuz my mom account has administrative rights and im pretty sure she'll find a way to remove the password on my username.

and the option to encrypt it is greyed out :(

k, just rename the folder to .txt
it will also change the icon, just name it "read-me.txt"
no one ever opens the "read Me's" you can put it anywhere

no, hes not. You probably meant turning a file into a txt not a folder. rename a folder to folder.txt, turns it into a folder called "folder.txt"

ok, sorry do this
take your file (cut) and find a place that you know your "admins" will never go like with in a Windows system file, anywhere really
then right click and choose create shortcut
then rename it to readme.txt
put the shortcut easy to find c:/readme.txt and should be safe
I knew I had did it years ago, just forgot how I did it
