I had a gigabyte 8knxp running for a few days, them for some dumbass reason I decided to try plugging a case fan into the onboard power connector while it was running, I heard a static electricity shock noise, then it shut itself off and now I can not get it to do anything. I hope I can get a warranty for it. This sucks :frusty: :frusty:

Why did you try to plug a fan on your computer when it was turned on?

actually is some cases you may have just caused the biso to screw up

have you tried taking the battery out and messing with jumpers and stuff unpluged all sources of power e.g. ram cables cards

sometimes simple shit like that will fix the problem other time you fucked the board and gotta make an excuse like i hit the power button and i heard a pop.

Maybe you fitted it wrong and shorted the psu, or maybe the fan is faulty.

Have you tried disconnecting the fan and trying again?

If that doesn't help, go back to basics and unplug everything from your psu and motherboard except graphics card and keyboard. Reset the bios while you are there.

And try a spare psu if you have one.

Its still not right to return it for warranty if you know you broke something. That's dishonest and everyone pays for it with higher prices.

At least do the steps to check the power supply and clear the CMOS.

I have checked the PSU already but how do I clear the CMOS?

I have also tried taking it out of the case with nothing attached to it except the PSU, RAM, CPU and power switch. still nothing.
