Sound Recorder?

Is there a program that can record sound while you're playing a game, like FRAPS but only sound and not video gets recorded, into like a .wav file or something?

I had a setting in sound devivces section in control panal that let me chane my record input to "what you hear". then I could use any record program eg. windows sound recorder.
