I have to vent here and say I wish they would stop playing "Mad World"
by Gary Jules.........

Yes, I do listen to the radio occasionally, and it seems like that damn
song is on just about every time

I would much rather hear the original 1983 version by Tears for Fears - they
are the original artists and deserve all the credit and airplay.

And let me just ad that Tears for Fears 1983 release "The Hurting" is one of
my all time favorite albums - if you have not heard it, get a copy of it and
give it a listen - just an incredible album, many wonderful tracks in addition to "Mad World".

@ summerlinda: I know you rather enjoy the track by Gary Jules - I do like his music, just not
his remake of this song.

I agree, I prefer Tears for Fears' version.

Tears for Fears however like this crappy Gary Jules version.

Yeah - they have a new album which just came out....
But it sucks balls - only their older stuff is good IMO.

Are you kidding??? What a shame - really. I guess that explains their recent
sh!tty album - they lost their musical talent and ear.

Fuk Dat, get a new dj

unfortunately, that is not the prob....
the radio stations have a program they follow
the dj just plays what they tell him/her to play
(i have had a couple of buddies that were dj's for local stations, that was always their biggest bitch)

Silly CrumbCat,
Radio is for kids

simple solution: Turn The Radio Off :D
and stay away from MTV that helps too

lately all I hear is newer artists covering 80's songs
and more angry rock groups
listen to college radio or some of the stations winamp provides. I think modern radio stations are out to sell records and feed new music to people that don't have time to look into better artists.

oh and crumb you need to hear this song:
Relient K - In Love With The 80's (Pink Tux To The Prom)

I know that dude, I never wrote the song, I was just listening to it, but if a dj aint playin what he wants, guess he aint really a dj, more of a button presser, guess thats why I stopped listening to mainstream radio, just button pressers, pressing the same fuckin button fifteen times a day.............................blah blah blah

I have both versions and NO radio.

The Gary Jules version is far superior to Tears for Fears, and this may be because it fits so nicely into that brilliant film Donnie Darko.

I understand how media saturation can lead a sane man to puke, thus I no longer listen to the radio.

I remember "Let's hear for the boy" back in the 80's, from the Footloose soundtrack, was playing on ALL 3 popstations at the same time.

I am also a Tears for Fears fan and have almost all of their albums.

i luuurve the gary version......

but i find that serious amounts of radio saturation kills a song. Its kindof also the whole "it gets popular, its not as special any more" thing. *sigh*

no more radio for Random.
