800 to spend on graphics card? if so then etiher go for a ati radeon x800xt or a nvidia geforce 6800ultra.

they aren't for sale yet, and the drivers havent been finalized yet, but once some good reviews start going then youll know which to go for.

other than those cards, id probably get a 9800pro or xt, as the price will be coming down very soon.

I actually think the 6800ultra or the 6850 ultra when it is released would be a better invesment than the x800 because of the pixel shader 3 support. the x800 does not currently support it, so the 6800\6850 will last longer in terms of compatiblity with games than the x800.

but if you just want really good performance for todays games (ps3 isnt in use yet) then go with teh x800, and buy a new card later on when ps3 is in use and needed.

OH GOD NOT THIS THREAD! haha

IMHO I would go with the X800 XT card if you want the best. $500

If it was me, I would probably..buy the X800 XT, IF I didnt have ne other stuff to spend money on, such as car audio systems, lol.

If you have other cool stuff to spend money on...I would go for the Radeon 9800Pro or 9800XT, as the price should fall greatly.

I was thinking about gertting the 9800Pro because the xt is 256mb and most games dont need that much and pro is about the same but 128. When will the price drop?

6800ultra sounds good, i gotta look up prices tho.

Spend the money on hookers.

50 years from now you'll look back and remember that experience long after you've forgotten which silly graphics card you bought.

yes, all all-in-wonders can capture video and be a graphics card and have video out, and most, if not all, come with a kool "ati" remote control.

but i think it is a lot cheaper to just buy a graphics card and then a tv tuner sperately,

If you want to spend ALOT, get the X800 XT

If you dont want to spend a ton, get the 9800Pro :)

The Hercules Radeon 9800SE All In Wonder can be softmodded (if it doesn't work take it back say it don't work and get a new one :P) to a 9800 PRO. These things will also be cheap as horse muck now.

Is there anything thats a big differance from XT & PRO? I would like to get pro, i dont really care about XT being 256mb. I would like another reason, because there isnt a game that needs more then 128mb.
