Upload

I have DSL with 768 kb/s download speed and 128 kb/s upload.
But really i can upload with only about 14-16 kb/s throgh FTP or Kazaa or something else. Why?
How can i speed up my upload speed? Is it possible to upload with real 128 kb/s with my connection.
I'm waiting for your suggestions.

Your connection speed is listed as kilobits/second. Your actual transfer rate is displayed as kilobytes/second.

There are 8 bits/byte, so... 128 ÷ 8 = 16 kilobytes/second
