Personally I hate fireworks, but they make us use it in school.

Do you use Fireworks?

Nope. Adobe Photoshop (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html) is so much more capable. I would even choose The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) over fireworks.

Hey, why not suggesting to your school to use The Gimp. It's completely free. The Windows installers can be found HERE (http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/). It's actually comparable to Photoshop an still free. Hey, it's worth a try... and you'd be saving your school money.

I like it, it does everything i need it to do. Check out the site in my sig to see a video i made which uses characters and scenes drawn entirely in fireworks.

Photoshop is much more powerful, but I still can't figure out how to draw things with it. I use it more for editing photos.

Yep, I use it - About 95% of the graphics I make are done with Fireworks. :)

I think it's pretty cool for making navigational buttons.

Fireworks has everything that you need for working with images in websites.

photoshops is better at working with pictures.

i wish people would stop comparing them, both have their own strong points.

@Keikan: is this a web design class? if so, fireworks is the better choice (imo)
