Saw this film yesterday at the flicks, loved the monsters, the women are lovely,SFX are great, only fault was Dracula the actor playing him wasn't very creepy, didn't seem to jump off the screen at you like he should.
What does anyone else think????

Our national news did a review on this today, with a very bad pun - saying that much like Dracula this movie sucked (told you it was a bad pun) :P

Its definitly a no brainer(leave your brain at the door and enjoy the film)but don't knock it til you try it!!! as the actress said to the bishop.

I loved the music!
Whenever Van Helsing was moving faster than a walk, the guitars come on.

The SFX were veeery nice. I thought it was a unique twist in tying Dracula, werewolves, Jeckyl and Hyde, and Frankenstein all together. I mean, there were some parts that I thought were ridiculous, but I can't deny, that movie was damn entertaining. :D

Hey, what did everyone think when you find out who Van Helsing REALLY is? Of course it wasn't said directly.

I hear it suck. Actually i figured that out when I watched the trailer. "from the director of "the mummy" and "the mummy returns"", dont make me laugh (well I did).

From the previews and trailers I thought it looked quite good. The effects look great I wont go to the cinema to watch this one but I will download it when a rip comes out :D

SHERLOCK Van Helsing?

QUASIMODO Van Helsing?

btw, Universal just recently re-issued scads of their old monster movies as a tie-in to Van Helsing. there's a Dracula set, Frankenstein set, and Wolf Man set with 4 or 5 movies each for about $20 USD. a pretty fair bargain, imho.

It wasn't his first name. It was his REAL name. Why do you think he saw what he saw at the end, if you catch my meaning. ;)

Godsend is a piece of shit.

Van Helsing has some good parts but is basically a CGIfest.

Younger folks will definitely like it.
In it's defense, there was rarely a dull moment in the movie.

It has good pacing.

I personally thought the movie was kinda hokey. <_<

(keep in mind I wasn't too enthused with Hellboy either)

Nearly half way through the film as I type this and I already know that it's a top quality film, it is in the Hammer House mould of films but with the fantastic sfx available today.

Is it realistic? Yep, as realistic as the Matrix and Lord of the Rings!!!(you must've removed your brains before watching those?)

Must admit that Banderos or Clooney might've been better as the lead male but, who knows.(this actor might be good but he don't look strong enough!)

Got at least another 25mins left and I like the film, great bit of escapism!

If you like fantasy/horror, watch this movie, you'll love it.

Yesterday I saw Van Helsing and Mean Girls for free. :D

Loved them both. Van Helsing was cool, the monsters, the music, the effects, etc. Its a shame Frankenstein was a wimp though...
