Teach me how to play the guitar quick! By the way I'm missing the sixth string. :blink:
Put left hand on frets (pieces of wood in between the bars) and press fingers on strings.
Strum with right.
Ta da.
Next week: Pentatonics, arpeggios and phrasing.

I know, but when explaining it to someone its best to say that those are the frets, rather than the spaces between.
It also makes it simpler when explaining tab (Fret 1 etc...)

learning guitar? POWER CHORDS!!!!! They are the beginner's best friend. Your hand stays in the same formation and you just move it around the fret board. Simple.
