I am on 56K dial up and with a limit on my hours.

So that I do not go over my hours allowance (and therefore costs me more cash !) I use this technieue to stay on line during hours when my wife and family do not need the computer.

I use a neat utiltiy program called Switch Off by Yaroslav Pomazkov. I got it from Downloads.com. You can set it to hang up the modem at any time you wish.

Due to the fact that Kazaa Lite is very forgiving in that if it is turned off suddenly eg by a crash or power cut or by Switch Off ! - you do not lose any downloads !

So I start my downloading at 10 pm at night and set Switch Off to hang up at 1 pm. This gives me 2 hours of solid downloading, and I know that I will keep within my hours AND this also allows me to do other things during the day than watch Kazaa do its thing !

Let me know what you think !

Let me know if you try this.

heh cuz its interesting and because i know a number of people who still are on 56k so i was going to pass them the message.

yes, i still can't believe there IS a 56k. they seriously should just cut it off and force people to get broadband or cable
