Something similar to AVG in but in a fw.

i used to use this before upgrading to the pro version but really liked the home free version.

You can take an old computer and install something like Smoothwall (http://smoothwall.org/) and turn it into a great hardware firewall/NAT router. You don't even have tio install a version of Linux, really. Check out Linux Live disks (http://www.frozentech.com/content/livecd.php). Or you can just buy a router, but the above way is free and isn't as troublesome as a software firewall.
