Vcd Movies

As per topic, will VCD play on PS2? Already have a DVD player that plays them but thinking about getting PS2 for daughter and was hoping it would also play VCD's. Has anyone tried? Can't seem to find anything to tell me on their site.

vcds wont play on ps2's unless they are chipped :(

CD-R (but only music)
And obviously the games themselves
