In my experience, BS Player takes the best screencaps. I don't know why. I don't even like BS Player.
Well, Media Player classic has that option in later versions.
I know IFranView can do it too, but I don't like that player really.
If you want, you can choose an external program like HoverSnap (http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm). It doesn't need to install and it's free, but it's probably best to use the feature built into your player.
