Did anyone else think it kinda sucked. I think the Stone Sour influence is too great and its all lame stuff. Despite that the "traditional" songs were good.

If you don't like them don't comment, not everyone likes them and thats fair enough.

Although I'm not a fa of Slipknot, I found the album to be good. It had plenty of mellow songs (mellow out - something Slipknot needs), the guitars sounded better, the drums were actually coordinated and Coreys vocals here more melodic. The music has a nice progressive sound to it. :)

Good for Slipknot but still Slipknot.

Some of the songs on there sounded alot like Stone Sour. I'm glad they tried to experiment instead of making an album full of just screaming lyrics though. Probably their worst album, but not too bad.

Drums have always been cordinated yet syncopated this is why Joey is known as 1 of the best drummers in the world.

I also have to say all the new songs i've heard (i'm a big slipknot fan) Duality, Pulse of the maggots, Dont get close & Welcome. Duality is the only real 1 that has stuck out for me.

As someone else was saying i 2 here to much Stone Sour i heard this album was gonna be darker then ever before but all i've heard is wait & bleed/My Plauge songs they need more People = Shit & Spit it Out.

SlipKnoT are the best band in my teenage life!!

I got it straight away...im not a huge slipknot fan...but i do enjoy listening to their music...And i was happy with their new album...sure there was mellow tracks but i dont think any band really want to just scream shit 24/7...I have to agree with the people who said Duality is a great song...it combines all thats great about slipknot...agression with melody...Im happy i downloaded it...and will be listening to it for a while to come...well until velvet revolver come out...and all in all i think it was a great effort from the guys :)

Well its different from what I expected. It seems that slipknot are moving further away from the "nu-metal" genre.
I liked the album and Joeys drumming on it was tight.
The music seems to keep all the aggression and darkness of Iowa without being so in your face about it.

Bullshit Joey aint the best. If he was the best then Slipknot would not need 3 drummers. ;) And the drums sounded like shit(as everything else did too) on all Slipknots songs I heard.

Far from it. My brother had a bunch of Slipknot songs on my computer(as a backup) and I listened to them. Sounded like crap so I didn't like them.

They sound like one of those cheap ass metal bands where all they do is scream and sound like they got a bad ass cold  i just dont like their music much.Tho i was forced2listen2their albums cuz my sister blares that shit 24/7 jsut like she did when the spice gurls were popular(oh and nsync n BSB holy crap my ear drums r permanently damaged)

A guess you have to be a fan of screaming to apperciate it
The new album is a bit mellower than what you may of heard. If you like any of the metal genre it's worth a listen.

its a pretty good disc, but like many people said, i think the stone sour influence is too heavy. duality was a pretty good track too for a first single. i'm glad to see jim & mick are showing off more of their guitar skills instead of re-hashing the same riffs over & over.

and corey taylor can sing. he's proven that over & over. he doesn't only scream, and hey, they're a metal band what do you expect? :D plus they have one of the best modern drummers too, joey jordison is quite a player.

True words :D

BUT,It's better to see some Slipknot video beeing played on MTV than some annoying pop/rap/techno/hip hop music.Don't you agree ? ;)

BTW, Uli Kusch is da drumma :P

Every man to each his own..........I liked this Slipknot album, I think it's really good, and better than the previous "Iowa" which was basically just screaming, with the few melodic touches in "My Plague". I'm liking this turn that Slipknot made, and I don't think Stone Sour had any influence over it.

It did everthing but suck. Its a big change for slipknot, and a good one at that. I gues there trying to capture diffrent fans. Vermillian Part 2 Kicked major ass, and so did circle. There acoustic songs are great.

true dat. i have not been dissapointed with any of their albums and it is one of the few bands i can say i like every song off all their albums, i've been a slipknot fan from the start and got their first album before they re released it. the new album is mad, not heavy like their previous albums but each album has been different in a way. the acoustic songs are a nice change and a good 1 i love circle.

what is wrong with stone sour i love their album aswell, sept for bother that had some shite lyrics in it but musically it was good.

as for the comment "if joey was so good why would they need three drummers" you should really know the band before you make a stupid ass coment like that. shawn and chris do play on kits joey is the only one in the band and he has a fucking massive kit at that. shawn and chris play custom percussion which usually invoves hitting metal shit with baseball bats, they do nothing for the drumming in the band. he also said KNOW AS 1 OF the best, not he is the best!
