I've been waiting to get one for about a year now, and my dad is going to some store called Coconuts, and hes gonna pick me up one. I dropped my old one at least 5 times and sometimes it skips on odd-numbered tracks, and sometimes on even-numbered tracks and sometimes the whole CD skips.

*realizes noone cares*
Meh. <_<

Make sure the portable CD player can play MP3s. That way you can get a lot of songs on each CD.

get a rio! i bought one last summer, it plays mp3s like a charm. they're an amazing value for what you get. the web site is here (http://www.sonicblue.com). They make the best mp3 players, in my opinion (although the ipod does make competition). SONICblue also makes other stuff mp3/dvd/cd related. its worth a look!

Here's what I got recently:

With Castle loudspeakers, it's much better than all this Japanese shit.
