I had been using AVG Pro 7 for a while, and it was working fine. Then a popup box said that there was a error with the license and that some files had been damaged or missing or something like that. The license didn't expire until 2005. I've installed it again and again, downloaded other versions off of Kazza, including ones with the keygen, with a license that didn't expire till 2021, reinstalled those about 10 times, got the same error message, and still nothing works. I've had just about all I can take. I've even tried avast and I get this message "Information about current update: Last encountered error: The license key for this product is invalid or expired." And the license on it is not supposed to expire. I don't really like avast since it doesn't detect trojans like AVG does. But I thought I would try it for a backup. Usually the serials for programs that I put in work but, they haven't been working for these antivirus programs.

I really need an antivirus program and I would like to use AVG but everything I've downloaded doesn't seem to work. I want something reliable and something that detects mostly all viruses and trojans. I know about NOD32 but you have to have the password and I cannot find one for it. Is there a free antivirus that will detect viruses and remove them, and will let you have updates? Or one that's not free but good and doesn't take up alot of resources? Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Yes AVG has a free version. So does Avast. Both also have Pro versions, not free.

Btw Avast home edition (free) imo is vastly better than any AVG.

The Free version of AVG doesn't get rid of viruses. It only detects them.

Not true. I have used AVG free (v6) on a number of computers.

when u use AVG dont get the updates coz it does somthing to da program i think ;)
also if u uninstal make sure u del da regristry entry or us regseeker. then reinstall it. i think the only updates u can upload is the virus updates.

give it a try :D

there's ya problem

dont go downloading that stuff of P2P, ESPECIALLY NOT KAZAA

you're bound to get fakes, virii or other nasty shit........ might even get cracks made by software publishers themselves (and no, they wouldnt be helping you out)

and trust us, the free version of AVG works just as good as norton or macafee, only its cheaper (well not really ) and uses less resources

I've been using AVG free version for quite awhile and it uses low resources and everything else you are looking for and does remove crap and is just as good as Pro, matter of fact I tried Pro also and liked the free version better as the interface seemed simpler or I had just gotten used to it. I just think that using cracked AV software is maybe a little stupid since after all you'll be conecting to them on a regualr basis, especially using cracked AVG when to me the free version seems fine...
