I have got a really weird problem with my IE6. Sometimes when i click a link it opens up a completely different site. For example I click on a topic in the forum and IE opens up a yahoo page with an error.

This happened quite a few times in the last days, it always appear after i used my internet for a while. But today it came pretty soon, and it only opens yahoo pages. It happens pretty often and gets really annoying.

Is there any option to uninstall and reinstall IE or can i repair it somehow?

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Forgot to say I already did a system scan with adaware and PC-Cillin and Im not behind a router.

I suspect you have installed a plugged version of IE6.
From where did it come?
Look at browsertitle & if your bookmarks have changed
(catagory search &default pages+homepage)
Best get a clean copy from microsoftsite itself. ;)

I've got mine from microsoft. :(

So should I just download it again and install it over my existing one?

You can do just a few changes : make sure that homepage/default page is set to >about blank
: disable search from browser(addressbar)<<if search is necessary you can
allways change that back ,but for searches you'd best use googlesite itself.
: disable in security-options redirection (internettools custom level)
(! on that page you can disable almost everything !)

You can also easily adjust settings with Xq-xsetup (has browserwizards)
? Why didn't I think of that in the 1st place?

It's a freeware tweakprogram <very popular ,every major dwnlsite has it,so no sig2dat is necessary
Quickest find is Tucows or Google.
(Sorry but lost the direct url) ;)

You can try to repair IE by going to Control Panel | Add-Remove Programs. Scroll down the list and double-click on 'Microsoft Internet Explorer 6'. Select 'Repair Internet Explorer' and click 'OK'. If you deleted your original install files, it won't work and you'll have to go to the MS website and download the whole thing again.
