I need glasses for distance... they help especially when driving, or trying to read the board in school.
But I seldom wear them.

I wear glasses all the time - I'm blind as a bat without. Nearsighted.
I wear contacts when I go out or when I just don't feel like wearing my glasses.

Clocker wears specs, but mainly on top of his head; he's a bit taller than me so I can't tell if he's actually got eyes up there.
He may just wear them for effect.
Or affect.
Not sure.

@Mathea:
There is no scientific evidence that computer screens are harmful to the eyes. A common myth is that too eye strain caused by reading and close work is damaging to the eyes. This is not true; however, those who work at computers often experience many frustrating symptoms.

As my age has advanced I find that I need glasses to read, but my distance vision seems fine.
While visiting j2, there was nothing I wished to see.

Yeah, and you seemed to do okay.
'Course, Turkey and 'da Bat would have rendered them unusable anyway. :D
We need to have a "rerun", I think. ;)

Do you have sonar ("as a bat"), too?
That would be cool. :)
Been wearing contacts for years. Cosmetic contacts though, no prescription.

Indeed it would.
Jeez Nikki, if you can fly and make ultrasonic noises I'd offer to marry you. :P
Hanging by your feet to sleep would just be a bonus.

Since there seems to be a great deal of us that need to wear glasses all the time I was wondering if anyone here has ever thought of having vision correction surgery. I have thought about it for some time now and I would really like to do it. The only thing that I’m wondering about is if the insurance would cover it.

actually, although commonly misconceived, almost all species of bats can see perfectly well -
although in black and white.
so if one was truly batlike then it would be possible to see the suspended,
snoozing, inverted, nightdress clad NikkiD in glorious monochrome :smoke:
