When installing Codecs in Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 build 2135-2144 they don't work. Installing process goes normal but after setup there is no information in Add/Remove Programs but when looking in Device Manager\Video Codecs there are all the codecs installed. And no Video file and DVD can be played. In Service Pack 2 build 2096 there is no such problem.
By the way the same is with Codecs Pack All in 1.
Can anyone tell what is the problem ?

Have you try it in Windows XP Service Pack 2 RC2?

VFW Codecs in Windows XP are stored in the following registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
Have a look at this key and see which codecs exist there.
You shouldn't install SP2! It's a beta!

I had the same problem with build 2138....but the latest public build from M$XP SP2-RC2 (Build 2149) (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/sp2preview.mspx) seems to have resloved this problem
