I downloaded a 1.2gig .dmg file on my PC for a friend with OSX. I need to split this file onto 2 cds to give to him. Is there a way to split a .dmg file using a PC.

yeah, mastersplitter (http://www.tomasoft.com/) will cut it in half for you. it's a very user friendly application too.
