DVD to DVD-R Newbie Guide

I know there are already some guides on how 2 do this but i'd thought id post a really simple newbie guide.

First off you'll need:

DVD Decrypter download here (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=dvd+decrypter&s=&orderby=Name&convert=&dvdauthorfeatures=&Submit=Search+or+List+tools)
DVD Shrink download here (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=dvd+shrink&s=&orderby=Name&convert=&dvdauthorfeatures=&Submit=Search+or+List+tools)

Insert the DVD you want to copy and load up DVD Decrypter.

1: Click Edit and Select All or just click Ctrl+A

2: Now all of these files should be selected

3: Click this button to select the output, I suggest that you make a new folder

4: Click this button to start Decrypting

Now you have the files on your hard drive, remove the DVD.

Now start up DVD Shrink

RED: Click Open Folder

BLUE: Now select the folder that you just made in DVD Decrypter

GREEN: Click OK

DVD Shrink will now do a short analysis:

[img]http://nodeadlines.com/ebay/images/analysing.JPG

Once it has done doing the analysis you can see at the top if the movie will fit onto a DVD-R (Circled RED) in this occasion it will but if it doesn't uncheck un needed things in the list like different languages (Circled BLUE) or if necassary get rid of extras :(

Now click on backup and this screen will load

BLUE: Select where the temporary files will go

GREEN: Select Backup Options

[img]http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/2664/backupoptions1234568779.jpg

RED: If you choose this option the process will take longer but will produce better quality

BLUE: Choose this option if you are wishing to use other programs while the backup is in process

CLICK OK

Now insert a Blank DVDR and let DVD Shrink do its job.

Hope this is useful

85% and higher seems to give a great picture, anymore and you'll risk losing quality (where you can see it )
I remove all the languish and audio extras (spanish/french ETC)

DVD Decrypter ???

You only need DVD Shrink and NERO.

btw. you need nero installed to let DVD Shrink auto burn the files.

this guide isnt complete...

what about ripping without menu and extras (re-author)? this way the quality of the movie would be much better.

Faster??? :P :P

i should think not its more time consuming using to pieces of software!

but all DVD Decrypter does is rip it on the fly to the HD and DVD will overwrite anyway thats what I'm saying therefore would be no difference
