April Fool's was several weeks ago.

I'm amazed that you had a clothes pin lying around....haven't seen one of them for many years.

Sorry. :(

Early Datsun 240Zs had a problem with fuel vaporization- mainly due to the incredibly stupid routing of the metal fuel delivery pipe right over the exhaust manifold.
Datsun's original "factory" fix was to clamp several wooden clothespins to the metal pipe in an attempt to dissipate the heat.
I always thought it was hilarious to open the hood of an immaculate Z car and see a row of clothespins alongside the valve cover.

Stupid fix for a stupid problem.

Ah. Vapor lock.

clocker
06-20-2004, 02:26 PM
Exactly.

Even more amazing, rather than simply rerouting the fuel line ( which is what I did early on) Datsun left it in place and spent the next 8 years trying to effectively insulate it.
This problem only got worse with the switch to fuel injection in 1976.
The combination of the required high fuel pressure and low air pressure at my altitude was deadly.

 What the hell, you have other connectors but instead you choose to use a clothe pin to fix a broken power connector? You do know that if it shorts out again teh hard drive may not work anymore, or at least the data will probably be destroyed...

@peat moss, my guide isn't about hardware  but maybe ill think of adding it :ermm:

Yes. [/b][/quote]
man, you guys are getting really unhelpful these days. <_<

If you have only a cd drive and a hard drive, then setup the hard drive as master on the primary IDE cable, and set the cd drive up as master on the secondary IDE cable.

If you find it easier to just use one IDE cable, then set the cd drive as slave and attach it to the primary ide cable along with teh hard drive set as master.

You should remember that a lot of posts were 'lost' in the board hacking incident/team chat theft. I've helped more people in my time at the board than you have.

You should also know that just because I'm not on the board as frequently as I used to be, that doesn't mean I'm not helping people out...

@ VB & Clocker, shut the fuck up. You want to stop calling everyone "kids", "children"? It gets incredibly frustrating

If you want to criticize someone's way of giving an advice, I'd suggest you do it in a polite manner.

Sounds kinda like when a 6 year old kid tells his mom to stop calling him a child then he throws a hissy fit...
