Hi again,
I made a post before but it has gone i see about my temps does anyone remmeber what i said. Well now i have a hard drive cooler attatched ot the hard drive double fan and have added a exhaust fan, (Not sure if it is correct way feels like it is blowing air out)

Hard Drive Before 55'C now 15'C

CPU Before NOT SURE now is 36'C

MotherBoard Before NoT Sure now is 23'C

Could someone remmember what i said before, and are htese new temps good.

You dropped 40c using a HDD cooler?
I WANT one of those!

Your other temps seem fine.
Where are you getting this data?

Yeah i am using Everst Home Edition program it tell me the 3 temps, It only cost £15 for both fans the hard drive fan cost £10 and its really good i think. PC world sell them.

Everst gives me same stats as MotherBoard Monitor but i prefer Everst

Yeah its above 15'C why u ask cos of Hard Drive

I am going to go on a game and see what temps are after an hour of play.

If the room temp is above 15˚C then it's not possible for your drive to be that cool. Something is wrong with that measurement.

Well last check i did says it is 18'C now it changes alot i would need ot check room temprature and i don't know room temprature. I think it is accurate tho windows are open but i am not cold. I have tried 3 programs all saying the same temps.

Did you buy that hard drive from a dodgy geezer called Abu?

Its a Maxtor 200GB and it has been replaced becuase last one broke down. But i am not getting involved with all that crap. Whats a bad temp for a P4 3.20Gz Processor just for i know

A bad temp would be one that is so high as to cause system instability/random reboots, etc.

Your temps seem quite acceptable to me.

36 is very good temp, anything under 50 is what you want. In 50 is not harmful but you could make it lower, 60-70 is bad. Around 85 i tihnk is the highest you can go before it will overheat. Doon't let it get that high.

Your temps are great.

SOmething thats a bit od my CPU fan is not speeding up when i go on demanding things, also i do not understand speedfan.

The fan speed will go up if the teperature goes up, not just cause u open something demanding.

If the temp goes above vertain levels, the motherboard gives a higher voltage to the fn, making it speed up.

Have you checked the "automatically varieated" box for your CPU fan?
If you don't tell Speedfan to change the speed ( and set the parameters for the change) then it WON'T.

Well speed is 1722RPM and Temp at 43'C

It was at 50'C and speed was the same

What motherboard do you have.

SpeedFan worked flawlessly on my Asus board, but is useless with my ABIT, so I stopped using it.

Strange, I can't get Speedfan to work at all on my Asus board.

Edit: with respect to fan control that is.

Lynx,

Try fooling with the min/max setting for the fan.
With my Asus it worked best between 60-85%.

Now, on the ABIT, it doesn't do anything till I get down to 10-15%.
And it's not very sensitive even there....seems to be either full whack or nothing.

That's why I gave up using it, at least temporarily.

nice, vb, really helpful. I know you know why it says that, so why don't you tell him. <_<

It's probably a faulty sensor, or a sensor that isn't really there, the motherboard or sensor or just the program is reporting faulty temps, don't worry about it. No part in your computer could last at 128degrees.

Speedfan doesn't configure itself for the motherboard, only for the sensor chip. If the chip has the possibility of three sensors, but only has two attached, Speedfan will still tell you the reading from the third (unconnected) sensor. Simply go into the configuration and untick the box which says you've got a temp 3.

Clocker, I notice that there's a later version which supports the Nforce2 chipset and cooling, that version wasn't around when I tried it. No use to me now, I'm on water cooling if you remember. I might try it for case fan control though.

Ah right it will be a disconnected sensor the BIOS sensor's the CPU and Mobo are reading fine and the HDD sensor is fine also it must be a disconnected sensor.
