What magnificent posting we've seen on the subject of late; and for such a good cause, too.

If we work a little harder, perhaps we can lose all these threads at some extremely inconvenient juncture, and then do it all over again; we'll all be 5-star mucky-mucks in no time. :)

I don't normally engage in such prolonged bouts of uselessness, but I'm rather enjoying this.

Then we can raise the bar again, so members are on a never-ending quest to achieve five stars. At least it'll give everyone something to post about. :01:

If it wasn't fun so many people wouldn't partake :D

And actual "Spam" content is relatively low; nearly undetectable, and certainly within healthful limits. ;)

Come now, in the spirit of the thread; discourse, discourse, discourse!

Work it, work it!

Feel the burn! :)

Do you mind if I join you here.

I had a wee stars thread but it was closed by Da Man.

I have no idea why

Duly noted.

I think you were a bit too provocative, in an "out of the blue" kind of way.

Feel free to be gratuitous here; I started the thread, but standards here are much more easily met, owing to my lower-class status.

So-no expectations, eh?

Down here in steerage, we can really cut loose.... ;)

Moi, never how can this be.

Now I assume someone is going to carry my bag to my room for me. Where is my room btw, this all looks very alfresco.

It is, isn't it?

Perhaps our accomodations are too slum-like for your starness?

Well, then...

There's hoops in the lot across the way, there's a patch of weeds over there if you need a nap.

Dinner's at seven over at the burn-barrel, provided somebody's dove in a productive dumpster.

Library's closed on Sunday.

Make yourself homely. :)

Stars perhaps, should be based on not just your post count, but the longer you've been with the board also?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I understand this.... Are you saying people will tend to post nonsense in order to gain stars?

I'm only about 3,700 away. At my current posting rate I will have my stars back in about 5 years. Unless they are upped again.

Well I guess this is what I get for having a real life away from the board. I didn’t even realize there were changes made to the star count until now. When did all this take place?

sArA

Stars....hmmmm......

This is what I think should be done.....

They should be awarded by the great high moderators, based on their wisdom and all seeing knowledge.

Each star being a badge of honour to be held up with pride for all to admire. They should be based on longevity, post count and quality of posts.

All awarding of stars should be made by the Mods, whose decision is final.

A special awards thread should be pinned to announce those lucky and truly grateful members who are to be awarded the weekly (or monthly) stars.

They should then be paraded around the board, held in high esteem by those members not good enough to be given the honour of star awards during that particular round of awards.

Those achieving 5 stars to be treated with reverence and respect by the lower order members....

Those with no or just one star should remember that to speak to a multi-starred member should allways be with deference to their superior status, the greater the number of stars, the more humbly low-starred members should conduct themselves....

That should sort it......

Methinks you've relegated me to one-star status, Sara. ;)

My stuff wouldn't carry the day with the mods, I don't think; too radical. :P
