ok, there's a million xbox/ps2 rips out there...so, why can't we just use something like DAEMON to use them on our pcs? I looked for some, but they're mostly hoaxes and viruses (some close calls there,) is there a trustworthy xbox/ps2 emulator and will it play rips? or just roms?

There are NO Xbox or PS2 emulators that can fully play commercial games.

There is Xeon (http://emulator-zone.com/doc.php/xbox/xeon.html) though, and from what I've read, it is able to boot Halo, and thats about it.

lol...yeah I figured (googlin' only turned up shifty hellhole websites.) Funny how there's all kinds of modchips and software for the xbox to run these cracked copies, but nothing for pc <_< I guess the people that figured it out also figured out that they can cash in on it rather than giving it out for free .

thanks for the quick answer.

dude you have no idea what you're talking about. the people that do all the software for xbox are doing it for free. they've created hundreds of possibilities for a system that wouldn't be where it is today. they aren't trying to "cash in" on anything because they aren't getting paid to do it. and it's a little harder to emulate something than just throwing a disc image on a computer.

it's easier to get around the authenticity check, than it is to emulate a complete system? greedy bastards! :o

All the current Xbox emulators (not based on the illegal binaries) can be cound here (http://www.zophar.net/xbox.html)

All the current Ps2 emulators can be found here (http://www.zophar.net/psx2.html)

All these emulators are for the Windows OS, if you look around the site you can find emulators for other OS's as well as emulators for consols ( ie play snes games on your Xbox)

If im not mistaken, even if they do make a working emulator for xbox or the ps2 it would take one nice nice sytem to be able to run them. Look at the dreamcast emulator, runs like shit unless you have a top of the line PC.

Sad but true.Even if there was a workig PS2/XBOX emulator that runs commercial games, you would need a realy good PC to run them.

But in the future, when the next-gen emulators start making some serious progress , the hardware standard of PCs will be higher than today, and the average PCs will be able to run the games nicely.Just like they run SNES games today, for example.

UPDATE: There's also CxBx , which is able to run Turok. You can actualy play the game fully , if you have good PC specs.

Also Xeon showed some progress lately. It can now run Panzer Dragoon Orta.
