Thank you, I've seen it.

A bit pricey for my taste.

I am building two servers for my brother's business using these cases. (http://www.insideproject.com/showreview.cfm?reviewid=72).
If they are as nice as expected, I may have to pick one up for myself.

They look nice too, a lot of extra room at teh top, probably a great place for a pump, radiator, maybe anything else u need for watercooling. :) Looks like the IDE cables have to be pretyt long to reach the cd drives though

Yes indeed, that could be a problem.
I was intrigued by the removable motherboard tray and giant size for such a low price.
Should know next week how they look.
I believe that he ordered them today.

What exactly is the top half of that case for? The bottom half looks like a regular case, then there is ahuge empty space above it.

well, look at the inside, the hard drives are where cd drives would normally be, and the cd drives go up in the high area. This leaves room for extra airflow in teh bottom half of the case, and i guess water cooling could also be put down there...or at the top. Wherever u want.

I dont think theres any place for air cooling...no place to get the air to blow...it seems all solid lol

I think that you'll find those to be built quite flimsy. Thin lightweight metal. Be careful not to cut yourself. Other than that, they look good.

Yes, I had a look at that case too, was actually going to order one
found a place online that had them for $39.99USD but to get it shipped to where I live it came to over $200!!
The only things I don't like about those cases is that they have apparantly very sharp edges and that it only has room for very small fans. That and the fact that it has no window.
I could easily fix all of the above except for the sharp metal.
If I could find a place that sells them in Canada I'd consider them

Could always file down the sharpe corners or edges. Well depends on how thin the metal is.

Yes, yes I know
I have done that with many holes that I have cut myself for blowholes or just regular case fans.
In any case, clocker, let me know if you like those cases once you get it going.
also let me know how easy it wold be to add a window in the side, is there anything behind the side panel that would obstruct the window?

Slight detour in plans.
My local comp shop ( same place I obtained my Gateway case) has a matching pair of beige mid-tower cases in perfect condition.
Like the Gateway, they are "old-school" in the sense that they are built like the proverbial brick shithouse compared to today's offerings.
Furthermore, they already have 40x CD burners and floppy drives installed.

Price for the pair is $60.

Seems like the way to go to me.
No shipping, good, solid construction, optical drives included, very good to excellent condition.

I am still grappling with the definition of what makes a "server" a server.
Maybe a new thread...
