 I'm trying to download something but it keeps giving me a pop up box that asks if i want to download this XXX tool bar in my explorer and that i cant view these files unless I do. Also says Acquiring License and opens a web page telling me to click yes in that XXX tool bar box. Does ANYONE know what's up with this??? Do I absolutely HAVE to download this thing in order to see any good XXX files? AND, is it going to stay in my web browser for everyone else that gets on my comp to see? Does it throw a bunch of pop ups at you all the time?
ALSO, on a different problem, when I try to send a message to any users it always pops up a box that says message can't be delivered because user might be logged off, not accepting messages, or they have an older version of Kazaa. Does anyone know if that's normal or if I am having problems?
[B][U]ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME

A real file....also....many of the accounts on Kazaa dont allow for messages, this is normal....if you want specific types of files, why not consider a different P2P client.... there are plenty of suggestions on this board.

<_< , why would you lie :frusty: guessing your name fits your persona ;)

If it's a toolbar, anyone on the system will see it. Not all junkware is easily removed. I say move on to another program.

You will also find that along with this wonderful toolbar you will be graced with happy pop up's, spam emails, slow browsing and the sudden urge to decapatate your pc  .
Don't Install it!
Don't Use KMD!
Don't Pay For K Lite!

Best tip for you is to google the following items:
Bittorent
IRC
SoulSeek
Newsgroups

Have Fun :) .

if you still want to know... the ones that seem to have the licence things normally have something along the lines of part 2 of 2 or something alike.. also they have tags[TMD] for example. I also attached an image to help

[img]http://img65.photobucket.com/albums/v197/zeromarius24/porn.jpg' width='200' height='120' border='0' alt='click for full size view'> (http://img65.photobucket.com/albums/v197/zeromarius24/porn.jpg)

btw, i just put in porn so dont flame me for the results :P

edit, another way is if they have many sources like said in the image

This part 2 of 2 or any other part x of x isn't often a fake. Same goes for tags as usually they are information of the source, launguage or codec of the file.

Fakes usually have sources of same name that differs from a standart KMD/K-Lite name (i.e. erica@kazaa [don't bug me about the onerousness of names]). Other thing about fake sources is that files often have enormusly long names with many contrastion words in them, that follow a logical patern of consisting commonly used search words (i.e. sex, porno, movie, film, mp3, music), band names, director name, actors/actress name, songs titles and film titles aranged in a logical scheme (i.e. New Movie Title - Porno - Porn - Hardcore - random string of words).

Yet another thing about "fakes" (hard to call it fakes this time, though) are files imitating other files. Name is correct, artist too and even many sources sometimes not being the same one, however the file size is something like 22kb and it takes a real fool to fell for this one.

If you want to get the real thing and there is no hash of the file in the verifieds, download a part of it and preview it with VideoLAN or other such application, check wheter sources have repeating names (exclude names KazaaLiteK++, KLite, user or defaultuser and network names [words after the "@" symbol] especially anything that differs from kazaa as Sherman gets nervous when RIAA or MPAA uses K-Lite in any version).

I can't believe that anyone is telling you to download a toolbar of any kind, let alone one called XXX !!!
Don't EVER download toolbars or anything else that they want you to. No accelerators, no download managers, no secrets to hair loss. . .nothing!
If you can't get your file in a straightforward manner with absolutely no other factors, then it's not legit. If they want verification for licensing when you are downloading it, don't download it. It's a different thing when you play a song and they want you to ok licensing verification, because that's what they're doing now. Yet, make sure you know what site is doing it. If you never heard of them and can't VERIFY who they are, don't do it.
If you're not really sure about security issues, you have no business using a P2P filesharing connection. Study security first. THEN look into P2P.

A quick scan of this thread and it seems the main tip hasn't been mentioned.
Don't download/view porn myself but one way to 'cure' this is to install peerguardian.

Any files such as those mentioned (which require liscenses, spyware etc) will not connect in traffic and when opening peerguardian you will notice a lot of lists of ips entitled 'OP Fake Files' and beginning in 64.
