Vamp

At the end of the day, in terms of:

High Speeds
Being able to find very rare files
Usually always been able to download file without "needing more sources"
and
simplicity

which is the best P2P?

K-Lite (Kazaa Ressurection)
Ares
Overnet
Bittorrent
mIRC

Any others besides those?

Personally, I use a combination of clients....this way, if I can't find what I want one way, I try another...it all rather depends on what you are looking for.

Out of 30 files, 28 of them will "Need more sources for download" with K-Lite.

Ares is great, but It only seems good for video and audio, software barely gets any searches.

Between Limewire and Overnet, which is better?

I predict that you could get 100 replies to this question and no two would be alike. :lol:

Best thing about p2p imo is the diversity. Each net has an edge on the others in one way or another. (Except FT of course. We all knew it sux'd balls even before it went after KL++. :lol: :lol: :lol: )

I'd echo what has already been said, try a few and pick the one or ones that work best for you. BT has been good to me for bootlegs but eMule beats it out on movies. And while DC gives me great access to audio books, it doesn't give me the movies as well as eMule or the bootlegs as well as BT. Get the picture?

Good luck. have fun with the search. B)

I use a combination:

Usenet: Ultra fast 3MBit downloads for me, but depends on what is posted
BT: New stuff
eMule: Rare stuff
Soulseek: Music
IRC: last resort

What do you define as "rare"?

Is Limewire and Overnet also good for rare stuff?

Ares = Music
Limewire = Music i cant find on Ares
Overnet = Programs/Games
Bitorrent = Games/Programs/Whole Movies/Albums

I like to keep it down to only 1-4 p2p proggys :P ... so far it seems to be working pretty well ... Ares has rare songs that kazaa doesnt at pretty decent speeds (usually 50kbps on average)

Overnet and Limewire for video clips.

Is usenet a p2p? If so where can we download it?

Ares

It has a similar interface to K Lite but works great for music. Without the fakes !
It is just what K Lite should have been. It has some very nice touches.

K Lite for Videos

I am on 56K so have not tried BT Edonkey etc.

I don't know if anyone agrees with me, but I think that p2p programs are rated by what type of operating system you have and memory, connection and in some cases, network cards.

Let me explain, I have used Bittorrent several times and it has crashed repeatedly into the blue screen of death. I found out that it was due to my network card, I had to update the driver or something. I did it, but it kept doing it. Don't get me wrong, some torrent programs were awsome, but it was cause of card that I cant continue.

Then, Ares had it's program take too much memory usage from my computer. But good thing they made Ares Lite which is the best program since the beggining of KaZaa Lite(not now). I still use Ares, but the downside is that thier server is down sometimes (like right now).

[/B]Overnet[/B]\Good, too much memory for me
Edonkey\Same as above
Winmx\ High quality music, little search results (depending on connection)
Ares\Fairly fast downloads, rare files, unknown music bands\ Fast Movie and Real files, Not recommended for Software.
KaZaa, Kazaa lites\PORN source only! Full of Fakes! RIAA hijacked

on Ares Lite the Theater is been taken off and some other stuff for those who have slow computers and cant handle to much CPU.

I use the regular version myself.

Bittorrent
And Shareaza for files i cant find torrents for (great 3 in 1 combo)

Bittorrent really is the king , no demi-god among p2p-apps (at least for big files) it's onely weak side is that u have to go looking for the files, what can take a long time for older or more rare files. Fix this or create a sort of kazaa for torrents and BT wil be GOD :o :o :o MOEHAHHAHAHA
Seriously i didnt like sharing before cause u were never sure u would get something back, even from other users but BT solved that for me
