opinions and reasons why please

edit. and while ur about it, fav wallpaper and screen saver as am starting a fresh after my recent disaster

im currently using kasperspy anti-virus.. and its great

i dotn use screensavers and my wallpaper is from themexp.org :)

i'm using NOD32...best detection rate, simple interface

btw...i recommend that u refer to this site...Virus Bulletin (http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/archives/products.xml?table)...a website dedicated to testing antiviruses (btw, Avast failed the most recent test ;) )


i dun use screensavers either, my current wallpaper is spiderman movie

NOD32...

you have to either pay or download it from P2P. I got mine from www.suprnova.org and it came with a patch to allow u to get updates, works perfectly :D

named on norton as W32.Axon.B (W32.Axon.A is known as Win32:Xenon and that isnt there either)

if u click on all 3 names it tells u the number of passed and failed testes fro each AV. nod32 overall acorrding to the site is the best av. im gonna go look on supr for what rossco was talking about

It does what AV is supposed to do.
which is shut the fuck up, scan everything, and update its definitions automatically forever.

I had Symantec Corp. v8.1.1 installed; fully updated.
I did a full scan and found nothing, but I knew something wasn&#39;t right with my PC so I did a few online scans as well.
Nothing showed up so I installed Nod32; updated and did another full scan.
It found 4 viruses and removed 2 of them. I then installed Panda antivirus v7 and udated; did another full system scan and it removed the other 2 viruses.
Panda was a system resource hog so I uninstalled it.
I am currently testing Kaspersky v5.
I have 60G of files on this HD and it has taken over 1 hr to scan and it is only at 16%, but has found 1 new virus. It also takes a long time to scan incoming emails.
So I will wait and see how things go and which one I decide to keep.

Do you really care if your AV works with RedHat Linux?

Only the apps that scored well with your particular OS matter.

true...which is why u guys should concentrate only on the results for Windows XP June 04, that&#39;s more important

but u gotta understand, they do this every month on every kind of OS there is (rotating every month), and the next test for windows xp isn&#39;t due until next year

have u tried it yet? personally, i dun reli care about the virus dictionary bcos all antivirus (i hope) can detect more than what their dictionary holds (i reli hope, but it&#39;s true)

u musn&#39;t forget that they have heuristic engines to handle wild and unknown viruses.
anyway, if NOD32 doesn&#39;t work, just try another one, only u know wat&#39;s best
