Hi,
I am changing my IDE ATA cables from Mobo to HDD from the awful ribbon stock crap to something less big and lets air flow better.

Are Mobo to HDD cables the same as Mobo to my 2 CD Drivers are they the same thing so if i order the cables i get a single one for mobo to hdd and a dual one for mobo to both drives are IDE ATA cable the same

you can put a pin though the center of each wire on the ide cables. slide on the pin until you have a slit then just put and the wire apart and they will seprate. when u do this 2 every wire you can tape them up and they are the same size as the rounded ones you would buy.

whats the point they are cheap to buy rounded ones are most drives 40 pin my hard drive is ATA133 not sure on my LG 4040B and my 4KUS DVD-16X6S

I think my LG 4040B will be 40Pin its ATA/E-IDE compatible

Also i am getting a Floppy Drive roudned cable are they all the same

Yes CD drives and Hard drives use teh same IDE cable, floppy drives use a smaller one, not sure how many pins it is...

I just ordered two of these for my computer. (http://www.mds.calpoly.edu/network/images/rcafull.gif) Didn't order any for my floppy drive though...don't ahve a floppy drive lol.

Does anyone out there have an estimate at how long it will take UPS ground shipping to bring my stuff from Ohio, US, to Ontario, Canada? I think it should only take about a day delivery to get into ontario, then next day delivered to my house...so probably come monday or tuesday?

I hear you shouldnt put HDD and Optical Drives on the same cable, as the Optical drive will slow it down. Put them each on a separate cable.

Rossco i got loads of them a few came with my Dolby system for when i want to plug a discmand into the stero ports.

Well i am buying these.

Floppy Drive Cable (http://www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk/invt/f3g978h10inbdb)

My 2 DVD/CD Drive Cable (http://www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk/invt/idernd18bl)

Hard Drive Cable (http://www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk/invt/f2n1123h18inbdb)

Are the lengths ok i think they should be i have a small case well average not one of those tiny ones. I checked PIN Sixe and they are all ok.

0.5meters should be fine and 45cm for hard drive ones.

Like the blueness

Thats what i always used to say, but people have told me that that isn't teh case nowadays cause no drive will reach its maximum bandwith anyway...

Why did you get a (dubious) RAM cooler instead of addressing the root problem?

Okie-dokie then.

There is a great deal of debate regarding the actual utility of heatspreaders/ramsinks you know.

Have you any way of telling whether or not the device is really doing you any good?

BTW, IMO any case can be successfully altered to improve cooling.

You just have to show it who's boss.
Cases can sense fear.

Sprocket used to respond to crude threats like that cause she knew I would actually use it ( and I have the pile of swiss-cheesed cases to prove it!).
As she grew older though, and I grew reticent to carve up my cases, she became bolder.
Now I have this to keep her in line...

Well at the moment i have to use the line out on fron of pc for speakers since i got a problem with my rear line out only plays on right spreakers i checked on MSI website (motherboard maker) i found this http://forum.msi.com.tw/thread.php?threadi...01e271cc6524178 (http://forum.msi.com.tw/thread.php?threadid=27998&sid=74ea11b00a2263bc01e271cc6524178)

so i tried updating drivers got me no where so gonna look at jumpers for sound. I do not like on board audio i prefer a sound card oh well.

Anyway give me a hand about the jumpers and all that to do with audio on a mobo i do not have a clue about on board audio jumpers.

My case is a Advent computers one and very hard to mod becuase of its size.

Do you know what a jumper is...what it looks like?
Your manual should explain what jumper goes where to do what.

usuallys if u remove the audio jumpers it means that you dont have audios in the back, only front. So basically, you choose front or back audio ;)

and maybe i think some cases come with a return like i think so u can have it at both but not sure if urs does...dont know what case u got lol.

Well i know so far i got this

Image Resized
[img]http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/7513/56987415.jpg' width='200' height='120' border='0' alt='click for full size view'> ('http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/7513/56987415.jpg')

THing is i cannot do this i have one big jumper that plugs into the socket on the mobo it takes all the pins. On front of case i have 2x USB 1xFirewire 1xLine Out (I am using now for 2 channel sounf) and 1xMicrophone

I would use my rear line out but only 1 channel thats the problem.
