I'd read through those sites to learn about the DRM and possible ways around it.

Thanks for the help, that first website was very helpful. You know what else, there are so many files that are on kazaa that are fake or nothing. I dl this whole movie and then when i try to play it , nothing but a black screen no sound no video......what gives?

ur using kazaa or klite, right?

I'd try emule. It's slower, but I've yet to dl a bad file.

That's why eMule is the P2P program of choice for serious file-sharers. Kazaa CAN (emphasis on "can") be alot faster but the network is flooded with corrupt, mislabeled (how many times have I downloaded cheap Asian porn?), and incomplete files. Also, eMule oustsources more than Kazaa...

Try using the VLC player, you can go here to find out more about it>Video Lan (http://www.videolan.org/)

It's really the best video player I've ever used for its compatibility. I've used Windows media player, Intervideo, Divx, xvid, etc... Whenever any of these fail or I am to lazy to hunt and download the latest codec...vlc comes through far more times than not.

The other things is to definitely switch to emule if you want to download movies, software and other huge files. Far more reliable with better quality files. Perhaps slower than the old version of Klite before that network switched over to the 2.6 version, etc. However you'll get what you want most of the time just the same.

I just started getting the license aquisition ruaround as well. It acts almost like a virus. EVERY damn thing I try to download, 1st it says it needs to aquire a license then goes to a bogus site to find it, 9 times out of ten it winds up crashing explorer on the way, then it comes back not being able to play the clip having corrupted it somewhere along the way. This thing is rendering my Kazaa experience useless!!
Please, somebody,
Thanks!

Steer clear of .wmv and .wma files...

As above I though it was only windows media files that could be passworded in such was so just stick to .avi format. If its porn your downloading it may just be the site where its from as I've seen a site where you need a active working password to view the files. As for switching networks it is a good thing but if organizations like the RIAA and DRM succeed in crippling the FT network I'm sure they'll move on to others once there done :(
