i opened up my pc to clean the heatsink, as you do, i cleared out some dust, close up my pc, switch it on and now my fan is making a lot more noise than before, any suggestions why and how i can fix it please?

heatsink since my one was a bit loud neway
Its not possible is it?
Maybe it's the fan not the heatsink.
Heatsinks are passive, fans are active.

to get rid of teh noise, you could just buy another 60mm fan, or better yet an 80mm fan and a 80mm to 60mm fan adaptor. :)
Maybe it was sound interference from another fan.
That sometimes happens when they are slightly out of sync. :P

When you say that your HS "hums" did you mean hum like the Andrews Sisters or hum like Monica Lewinski?
Just curious. ;)

no, not a problem, just unplug it, then plug the new one in. :)
