thats what comes up on my computer upon start up. it opens in notepad. Is this because I installed a rip of carnival cruise tycoon yesterday? Is it bad? a virus? i'd like to know and how can i get rid of it?

well to find out if it is a virus, run anti-virus software.
Also use spyware detecting software to see if it maybe spymare.
The former i mentioned would be wise to now.

if spyware and virus scanners come up it might be a bad dll file

u could replace it and c what happenes. just make sure u keep thje original in a safe place, just incase

It's not a virus, it's a desktop.ini file. To find it, open windows explorer > tools > folder options > view
at hidden files and folders, choose "show hidden files and folders"
uncheck " hide extensions for known file types"
uncheck " hide protected operating system files"

Look for the desktop.ini file in one or more of these locations:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

Open the file and see if it contains these lines
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787

If it does, delete it.

run spyware and virus scanners.

then go to start>run>msconfig>startup and disable all startup crapy that isn't needed (inclluding what may be opening that error massge thingy whatever it is lol)
