Figured I may as well start the topic up, even though the polls aren't yet closed across the country. ;)

As of 5:00 PST, it's
Liberals - 19
Conservatives - 7
NDP - 4

And, imagine, it's all recorded and counted by hand...and we find out the same day!

God no, if the Conservatives win you may as well just move to the United States. Did you vote, or are you not able to?

"The dead have risen, and they're voting Republican!"

Beeing conservative is by definition beeing someone with an object stuck up your ass.

Not that I follow politics in Canada or anything....

Gee.
I wonder if j2 would agree with that assertion.

I can assure you ( mea culpa) that, with his head already inserted, there is no room for extra objects.

Just for the interest of J2 (in particular), the Marxist-Leninist party gained a riding lead in Ontario.

So Canada may become communist after all. :P

Wonderful.

Just wonderful.

Clocker-

I have a new frying-pan trick, if you're interested.... ;)

I really didn't expect much from Canada; after all, with socialism right on the border, we can't help but look good. :)

Ah man useless election.

Why have an election?

I have too many smartass answers for that question.

But I also infer that you're not old enough to vote in the first place.

What is the nature and inclination of the party that the Liberals have teamed up with?

We have a Liberal-Labour coalition in Scotland and whilst not perfect is probably better than an either or situation.

So far, it appears to be the NDP, and perhaps the one independent seat. There's a recount happening in a few ridings where the results were very close (the NDP lost a riding in Vancouver by 45 votes), and if it turns out that they won, then there would be no need to court the independent. Otherwise, the Bloc might hold the balance of power.

However, if the NDP holds the balance of power (which they currently do), then they'll inject some social conscience into the Grits. Certainly not the ideal situation, but far better than Harper getting in.

Ideally, it'd be an NDP majority with proportional representation.

Well, I can dream. ;)

Sounds like an ideal time to put your shoulders to the wheel, boys-grass roots, and all that. :)

Well J2 if Jack's boy's, pushed a little harder, I think we would have seen an NDP Government...
