Firewall And Online Gaming

Been trying to configure my firewall to accept all incoming and outgoing traffic from my MP game but it's not really working :(

The exe of the game is set as "allowed",and i can start and open the gameserver list in my game.But whenever i try to connect to a gameserver it gives me the message "can't connect to server".

So i&#39;m forced to close down the game and turn off my firewall because the traffic is being blocked <_<

Normally i really don&#39;t care that i have to turn of my firewall,but lately i&#39;m getting a whole lot of portscans (about 1600 per day :o ).And that causes me to lag like hell on the server if i play with my firewall disabled.

It&#39;s not fun for me or the other players on that server,so i really need to find out how to configure my firewall so that my ping doesn&#39;t go through the roof when i&#39;m playing.

Yeah i know thze number of portscans is pretty high.

It has nothing to do with spy- or adware or any virus or whatever.
Think Winsockfix screwed it up a while back.
Had to restore my HOST file with it and after that it&#39;s like everyone that has the same ISP and IP range as me is trying to connect to my computer(or something like that.

I allready contacted my ISP for that to fix it for me.


But really...isn&#39;t there anyone here who could tell me how i have to configure my firewall for this?
Surely you don&#39;t all turn your firewall off when you play an onlinegame on your comp? :huh:

Maybe this should get moved to gameworld?
